The Molecular Symmetry Toolkit is an Excel-based Symmetry calculator that enables users to create symmetry elements for molecules in three dimensions. The elements created can be displayed on the molecule. The toolkit enables students to practice basic concepts in molecular symmetry and can also be used to prepare slides and presentations.
1. Microsoft Excel 2000 or later. 2. Internet Explorer 5.5 or above (version 6 recommended). 3. Chime, a freeware browser plug-in used to display three-dimensional molecular structures on Web pages.

After clicking the link select Save or Save this program to disk. Select where on your computer you wish to save the setup file. After you download the file, double click it and follow the installation instructions. The program will then be installed on your system and you will be able to use the toolkit without having to connect to the Internet.
To uninsall the toolkit, go to Start Menu > Programs > Molecular Symmetry Toolkit and click Uninstall Molecular Symmetry Toolkit. Then follow the onscreen instructions. The toolkit cannot be uninstalled through the Control Panel.
